IntermediateGirls Hockey – End of Season Review

Girls Hockey has gone from strength to strength this year under the direction of Mr Dearden. He has started building a team capable of challenging for regional honours in future seasons to come.

In September, all the intermediate girls started hockey as the talent identification process began. At the start, we were looking for girls who were keen, enthusiastic and who were willing to learn something new.

After a selection process of eight sessions, 18 girls were chosen to focus on Hockey in a team environment.

All of the girls showed excellent dedication and commitment. Indeed addition training sessions were organised at weekends to meet the enthusiasm of the team.

All girls were guests of the Chinese National Hockey Federation as they watched the National Finals, which was a rewarding experience for the girls, being able to watch a competitive hockey game at such a high standard.

Such was the improvements made by the girls, that they were invited by the Jiangsu Regional U16s Girls Squad to a joint training session, during which the girls trained alongside regional level players and were coached by a former international hockey player.
