The School offers IGCSE and A Levels - the world’s highest ranked academic school qualification offering access to all overseas Universities.
Excepting for Chinese, all subjects are taught in English and key to successful academic progress is the acquisition of English.
A three tier structure allows us to admit pupils based on assessment of both their academic ability and levels of English. Those with the highest fluency follow a full British curriculum, those with a mid level join the hybrid course, with 60% of their time studying English and the weakest join Intensive, with 80% English. All pupils are assessed weekly. For those in either Hybrid or Intensive programmes graduation to a higher level requires the passing of a rigorous test.
Mainstream classes are typically 20, Intensive 8.
While at Wycombe Abbey International School pupils benefit, in the earlier years, from a blended curriculum of the best of Chinese and British education.
Wycombe Abbey International School uses the same Tutor system as found in the leading UK schools.
The School does everything it can to prepare pupils for university. The Head of Sixth Form, Housemasters and Tutors work closely with the pupils in helping them to select the courses best suited to their ability and interests.
